Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Homeowners observed large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
